Lucasfilm Planning Darth Vader TV Specials
Just as Disney's acquisition of Marvel has led to an explosion of content on the big and small screens, it's expected that they'll do the same for Star Wars. They've already got the animated Star Wars Rebels on the way, and talk of that live-action series has perked up of late, but now comes the surprising news of possible TV specials involving everybody's favorite Dark Lord of the Sith.
At yesterday's European Brand Licensing Show, a Lucasfilm brochure discovered by Jedi News listed the next two years' worth of plans for the Star Wars franchise. Included in it are plans for a Star Wars LEGO mobile game, and confirmation that Star Wars: Episode VII is being targeted for spring/summer of 2015. But also set for next year are "Darth Vader Themed TV Specials", but it doesn't say whether they are live-action or animated. There's the chance they could be connected to Star Wars Rebels but we'll just have to wait for a more official announcement.
If it turns out to be Darth Vader: Agent of SHIELD then we'll know Disney's take-over of everything is in full swing.
