New Trailer for Kellan Lutz's 3D Animated 'Tarzan'
Although Warner Bros. has a star-studded Tarzan film on the way with Alexander Skarsgard, Christoph Waltz, and possibly Emma Stone, Constantin Film has beaten them to the punch with a 3D animated version nobody will see. Already playing in Germany and Russia, with Kellan Lutz voicing the jungle hero and Spencer Locke as Jane, a new full-length trailer has been released that shows it'll be like nothing Edgar Rice Burroughs ever wrote.
Involving scheming corporations and fallen meteors, the story has Tarzan taking on mercenaries led by the CEO of Greystoke Energies. He's also the guy who took over the company from Tarzan's parents after they died in the plane crash that left him stranded in the jungle as a baby. There was some hope that after a lousy trailer hit a year ago that the animation would be tightened up, but it still looks kind of cheap and unpolished.
Tarzan should arrive in America some time in 2014. Lutz will soon be starring in Hercules: The Legend Begins, which too is being overshadowed by Dwayne Johnson's film on the Greek hero. Not sure what that says about Lutz except that he's always playing second-fiddle.
