Scream 4 Begins Shooting in May

Scream 4 has been grist for the rumor mill for years, but over the last few months there's been a flurry of activity. We already knew that a potential script for both Screams 4 & 5 was being worked on by series writer, Kevin Williamson. We also knew that Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette were in for the project, and that Campbell speculated Wes Craven would return as well. Now we've got a confirmation of sorts, coming straight from the LA Times.

Craven recently finished “My Soul to Take,” which is scheduled for release sometime this year. And in May, he starts on “Scream 4.”

The film will be set 10 years in the future, continuing the tradition of large ensemble casts of regulars and newcomers. I'm curious to see just how Scream evolves after so many years away. The horror genre has changed, becoming more PG-13, less slasher and more psychological. So by all rights, Scream would have to change as well to reflect that shift.
