They don't waste anytime over there at the Mouse House, do they? Heatvision is reporting that Disney, already thrilled by what they've seen of the upcoming Tron Legacy, have brought back writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz to get crackin' on the next film. No word on story details yet at such an early stage.
The chief question relates to the cast. Disney has an option on everybody involved, so if Tron Legacy is a hit expect them to be back. That includes Legacy director Joseph Kosinski, although no formal offer has been made for him to return yet.
Disney's taking quite a gamble here, basically banking on the buzz generated by sci-fi fans and attendees of media conventions such as San Diego Comic-Con. The original 1982 film was a mild success, but has grown into a cult favorite since that time. It's relying very heavily on nostalgia. Pure sci-fi films like this very rarely break out to become mainstream success anymore, unless they have the name James Cameron attached to them.
