Sure Shots: X-men: First Class; Justin Theroux, Hilary Swank

Quickly...

*Over the weekend a rumor cropped up that Aaron Johnson could possibly be close to signing on to X-men: First Class. Why? Because somebody snapped a picture of him with director Matthew Vaughn. Kinda weak, but The Playlist seems confident. They speculate that Johnson would be playing Scott "Cyclops" Summers, which seems a natural fit. Johnson and Vaughn recently worked together on the comics adaptation, Kick-Ass.

*How he can find time to act is beyond me. Justin Theroux, who's rumored to still be writing/directing Zoolander 2 if they can find the money for it, has just signed on to star alongside Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd in Wanderlust, a comedy from director David Wain(Role Models). Theroux's been crazy busy. He most recently wrote the script for Iron Man 2, and played the baddie in the upcoming comedy, Your Highness, alongside James Franco and Danny McBride.

*Possible comeback film for horror icon, John Carpenter? He's recently snagged Hilary Swank(Boys Don't Cry) to star in his first theatrical film in 9 years, Fangland. An adaptation of John Marks' 2007 book, the story is basically an update on Bram Stoker's Dracula set in a post 9/11 world. Swank will star as Evangeline Harker(based on Mina Harker from the classic story), a producer for a TV news show who travels to Transylvania to report on a reputed crime lord. There she encounters vampires and other strange creatures of the night. After the disaster that was Amelia, Swank could use a hit herself.
