Jennifer Lawrence is Mystique in X-Men: First Class

Now this is a shocker, but a damn good one. Winter's Bone star, Jennifer Lawrence, has signed on to play Raven Darkholme aka Mystique in X-Men: First Class. Amber Heard had been rumored to be in talks for the part, but apparently that fell through.

If you haven't seen Winter's Bone yet, do yourself a favor and make this weekend an Inception/Winter's Bone double-header. Her performance is a revelation.

With that said, I don't think she has the sex appeal of Amber Heard. Or at least I haven't seen it yet. She dirties up real good in Winter's Bone, but I just don't see her as Mystique. However I'm willing to bet she'll prove me wrong.
