Transformers 3 to be Shot in 3-D

Back in June we got confirmation that Michael Bay was planning for Transformers 3 to be in 3-D. The only question was whether or not Bay would be shooting it in the format, or whether post-production conversion would take place, just like in the Vaseline haze that was . Now we have confirmation, via Vince Pace, head of Pace Technologies...

Pace: Transformers has also signed on to shoot 3D throughout the film. I am working on a big Disney film but can’t mention the name and are lining up five more films. Just wrapped on additional photography for Resident Evil and Tron. Currently in Hawaii and flying out to London for Hugo.

This will be Bay's first time shooting in the 3-D format, and I'm curious to see how his tried and true techniques will hold up. I can see Rosie Hungtingon-Whitely running towards me in slow motion already, fiery explosions in the background...it'll be like she's really racing into my outstretched arms.

Oh, and the Hugo he's referring to in that quote is Hugo Cabret, Martin Scorsese's upcoming 3-D adventure starring Chloe Moretz, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Ben Kingsley.
