Sure Shots: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo; Ghostbusters 3; Darren Aronofsky

* The cast of David Fincher's remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo keeps rounding into shape. Now he's added Joely Richardson(Event Horizon), Steven Berkoff(Beverly Hills Cop), and David Dencik(the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). Richardson seems too old to play Harriet, the nice who's murder drives the entire story. Berkoff will likely play the abusive caretaker of Lisbeth Salander, while Dencik is likely reprising his role as Janne.

* I'm still convinced that Ghostbusters 3 won't ever happen, but current developments seem to say otherwise. Dan Akroyd confirmed recently that he is currently working directly on the script for the sequel, originally written by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, who should have their word processors shredded after writing Year One. Akroyd has nothing but rave reviews for the draft, saying that they've written eternal negativist Bill Murray "the comedic role of a lifetime". If that were the case why would Akroyd need to punch it up?

* Darren Aronofsky's name has been thrown into the mix of practically every film coming out over the next two years. From Superman to Wolverine, he's at the top of every studio's list right now. Capes and claws don't appear to be in his immediate future, though, as screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga(Babel) announced that location scouting on The Tiger is set to begin next month. Aronofsky has been attached to this project for some time, and is expected to direct the adaptation of John Valiant's novel about a lone tiger who seeks to eliminate all humans from his habitat.
