Hailee Steinfeld hopes she won't be 'Forgotten' in new film

There are a lot of people out there who think that Hailee Steinfeld deserved to be nominated for Best Actress for her breakout role in True Grit. She was without a doubt the best part of the movie for me, but unlike others I think she shared an equal balance with Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon and so Supporting Actress was perfectly acceptable. For the record I wouldn't have put Bridges in the Best Actor category, either.

Whatever the case, she'll get a fresh opportunity to show if she's got the makings of a leading lady, as Paramount has scooped up a project just for her.  Deadline reports that they've picked up the screen rights to Cat Patrick's upcoming novel, Forgotten. The book will be released in June.

The story is described as being about a girl named London Lane, "a 16-year old whose memory is erased at 4:33 every night. The following morning, all she can remember are events from her future. After meeting a new boy at school, London becomes frustrated that she can't seem to find him in her memory of things to come."

Sounds a little bit like The Adjustment Bureau for teeny boppers.
