It's been nearly four years since The Farrelly Brothers last wrote and directed anything, and that last effort was nothing to write home about. No offense to both fans of The Heartbreak Kid, but routine and dare I say "safe" comedy like that is not what I expect out of The Farrelly's. The duo are back now and appearing to be hitting their stride again with Hall Pass, which features Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis(SNL) as two husband stuck in boring marriages. Their wives(Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate) decide to do something radical and give the two dudes a "hall pass", one week free to do whatever they want. No holds barred, no questions asked. Why isn't this mandated in the Constitution?
A brand new red band trailer for the film has been released, and while not all that extreme in terms of the raunch, this is a much funnier trailer than the previous. Might be the first time I've liked Owen Wilson in years. I'll be checking this film out in just a few days and will of course report back.
