Sure Shots: Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen; Famke Janssen; Rosamund Pike

* Three actresses, three big roles in some tentpole franchises.  First up, we've been hearing about Julia Roberts being the top choice by Tarsem Singh(The Cell) to play the Evil Queen in The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, one of a handful of productions based on the classic fairy tale. Just last week she entered "earnest" talks for the role, and now it's been confirmed that she is on board for the part. This puts Relativity nose-to-nose with Universal(they have Snow White and the Huntsman) in the race to get a big screen adaptation of the story on the big screen. Expect more casting to to start flowing in fast and furious with Roberts attached.

* The Brothers Grimm continue to be in high demand lately(too bad they arent around to see it!), as another of their darker tales being adapted has added a raven haired beauty to it's cast. Famke Janssen(X-Men) will be the leader of a group of witches in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton. Tommy Wirkola(Dead Snow) directs the film, which features the brother and sister tandem as a pair of well-armed, high powered bounty hunters.

* A bit of cast shuffling for Wrath of the Titans, the upcoming sequel to last year's blur fest, Clash of the Titans. Rosamund Pike, who has been rumored to be up for the role of Ursa in Superman, has been cast as Andromeda. In case you forgot, Andromeda was played by Alexa Davalos in the previous film, but is unavailable for this one. Andromeda had the pleasure of a front row seat to the 10-minute long unleashing of the Kraken, but did little else other than look pretty. Her role is expected to be significantly larger this time around.
