Sure Shots: Captain America; Tomas Alfredson; Tobe Hooper
* Alan Silvestri, who crafted some of the most memorable scores in recent memory(Forrest Gump, Predator), will be providing the music for Captain America: The First Avenger. Also there's a possibility we'll get the first full trailer for the film later this week. Bring it. Impress me.
* One of the pics I'm most eagerly awaiting is Tomas Alfredson's(Let the Right One In) Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. An adaptation of John Le Carre's spy novel, the adaptation stars Ciaran Hinds, Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy and more. Universal Pictures has snapped up the distribution rights, so hopefully we'll get a firm US release date soon.
* It's been one hell of a dry spell for Tobe Hooper, the director behind such famed horrors as Poltergeist and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. His last film was in 2006, but it's been at least 20 years since he did anything I consider memorable. That could change with his next flick, Djinn, a horror that takes a look at the dark legends surrounding the Genie. Hmm...now that I think about it this might suck too. Unless it's like Wishmaster, then it'd be awesome.
