Universal Pictures has snapped up the distribution rights, so hopefully we'll get a firm US release date soon.* It's been one hell of a dry spell for Tobe Hooper, the director behind such famed horrors as Poltergeist
and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
. His last film was in 2006, but it's been at least 20 years since he did anything I consider memorable. That could change with his next flick, Djinn, a horror that takes a look at the dark legends surrounding the Genie. Hmm...now that I think about it this might suck too. Unless it's like Wishmaster
, then it'd be awesome.
