Trailer Time: Everything Must Go, starring Will Ferrell

For a long time I was a Will Ferrell nay sayer. Not that the guy wasnt funny, he just seemed to be channelling the same characters and movies all of the time. Thankfully he's been mixing in a healthy bit of drama to go along with all the wacky flicks, most effectively in 2006's Stranger Than Fiction. But rarely has he played a character who hits quite the depths of the one he plays in Everything Must Go. Written and directed by Dan Rush, Ferrell plays a relapsed alcoholic who loses his job and comes home to find that his wife has thrown his stuff out onto the front lawn. Living out in the open, he holds a yard sale as a last ditch attempt to start his life over.  The supporting cast is impressive, featuring Rebecca Hall(The Town) and one of my personal favorites, Michael Pena(The Lucky Ones).  The film is based on a Raymond Carver short story.

Check out the trailer for Everything Must Go, and watch out for it when it hits theaters on May 13th. Do you like Ferrell when he goes dramatic? Or is he better off just sticking to what he's best known for?
