More fresh meat for The Hunger Games as District 9 Tributes cast

Two more jabronies you don't know have been cast in The Hunger Games. Imanol Yepez-Frias and Annie Thurman will play the nameless Tributes from District 9 in the film. From what I recall about these two, the boy lasts an remarkably short amount of time once the fighting begins, and the girl I don't remember at all. District 9 is unique in that it's the only District where it's industry/specialty is unknown. That leaves only four Tributes left to be cast, two of which are major characters: Cato, arguably the strongest competitor in the Games, and Clove, an arrogant and bloodthirsty female.

The Hunger Games will be directed by Gary Ross, based on Suzanne Collins' wildly popular young adult novel about a future world where a number of poor districts are ruled by one dominant central government. Every year each district is forced to nominate a boy and girl to compete in The Hunger Games, where they must fight and kill until only one remains.  Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Wes Bentley, Elizabeth Banks, Willow Shields, Paula Malcomson, Jack Quaid, Amandla Stenberg, Dayo Okeniyi, and Leven Rambin star.

In a related note, I'm 20 pages away from finishing up The Hunger Games, and will be jumping immediately into the next one, Catching Fire.

The Hunger Games is due to open in theaters on March 23rd 2012.
