New pics from The Amazing Spider-Man reveal a possible Green Goblin link, and another funeral?

The Amazing Spider-Man has been shooting in NYC for awhile now, and for such a big superhero movie Sony has remained remarkably tight lipped about any plot details. I mean we know it'll focus on Peter Parker and will be an origin story of sorts. We can draw some conclusions by some of the casting, such as Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors aka The Lizard, but the presence of Irrfan Khan as Van Adder(in the comics the villain known as Proto-Goblin) clouds the issue just a bit. Based on the photos we saw a few months ago we also know that somebody's going to bite the big one, with speculation that it would be Captain George Stacy(Denis Leary), father to Gwen(Emma Stone).

A bunch of new photos from the shoot have been released over the last few days. Most mean very little. A shot of Emma Stone here, a spectacled Andrew Garfield there, but a few have some significance. In particular the shots that show a building made up to look like OsCorp Industries. If you don't know, OsCorp is the company owned by Norman "Green Goblin" Osborne. Does that mean he'll be in the film? Not necessarily, but it sure look that way.  Also peep out that looks to be of a funeral procession. Is this for George Stacy? Or does someone else head to that friendly neighborhood in the sky? These images courtesy of JustJared and Marketsaw!

The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters on July 3rd, 2012!
