Trailer Time: Sarah's Key, starring Kristen Scott Thomas Niels Arestrup

Niels Arestrup was such a dominating presence in last year's A Prophet that I've been eagerly awaiting what the French acting vet would do next. That film is Sarah's Key, based on Tatiana de Rosnay's novel about a journalist(Kristen Scott Thomas) investigating Vel' d'Hiv Roundup, the mass arrest of over 13,000 Jews in Paris by the Nazis in 1942. Her life becomes entwined with that of Sarah, who as a little girl protected her brother from capture by locking him away in their closet, taking the key with her. Seventy years later, the events of that day come crashing into the present.

Sarah's Key is directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner(Pretty Things), and stars Thomas, Arestrup, Mélusine Mayance, and Aidan Quinn. The film opens in DC on August 5th, but you can check out the trailer now below!
