Ex-WWE Superstar Kevin Nash to have "major" role in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

For awhile there, mostly during his time in WCW as part of the NWO, Kevin Nash was one of the best mic workers in professional wrestling. A big guy with a quick wit, Nash was able to keep himself in the limelight long after his athletic ability was wrecked by literally dozens of injuries and surgeries. He was able to take that gift of gab and roll it over into a somewhat successful acting career, and still does so to this day. While he's starred as the Super Shredder in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel, and as the giant Russian beating the tar out of Thomas Jane in The Punisher, his biggest role may be right around the corner. IMDB and a number of other sites are reporting that Nash has signed on for a big role in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, the sequel to the Nic Cage-starring superhero film from 2007.

Exactly who Nash will be is unclear, but you can bet he'll be big, mean, and likely angry. The 6-11, 300lb. Nash joins a cast that brings back star Nic Cage, and includes Idris Elba, Ciaran Hinds, Johnny Whitworth, Violante Placido, and Christopher Lambert. The Crank duo of Neveldine/Taylor are directing, based on a story by David Goyer(Batman Begins).

Taking place a few years after the first film, Johnny Blaze has exiled himself due to the belief that his gift is a curse. He's approached by a mysterious messenger with a request for aid in protecting a mother and son being pursued by the demonic Blackout, a servant of the Devil.

Hey, as long as Nash isn't lumbering around the ring like a pregnant yak anymore, it's fine with me! Maybe they'll find a spot for his hetero lifemate and perpetual drunk, Scott Hall? Actually Nash has been pretty good in all the movies he's been in, including Adam Sandler's The Longest Yard, so I'm thinking his addition here can only make the film better. Maybe he'll play Blackout in his pure demon form? Nash will be seen next in the Canadian classic monster wrestling flick, Monster Brawl.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is due to hit theaters on February 17th 2012.
