Harry Lennix to play military general in Zack Synder's Man of Steel
Most people will probably recognize Harry Lennix as Commander Lock, the leader of the rebel forces of Zion in the last two Matrix films. Whether he was involved in that odd sexually charged dance number I don't remember. To me, Lennix will always be Dresser, the cool bass singer in Robert Townsend's The Five Heartbeats. So while Lennix has mostly been a recognizable character actor since he started in 1989, he knows his way around a blockbuster or two. He's about to join another one, as Variety reports he'll play high ranking officer General Swanwick in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.
If this is truly going to be another Superman origin story, then I'm guessing Swanwick and the rest of the US military will be annoying pains in the butt, not all that pleased with the arrival of a super powered alien. Since there's no Swanwick in Superman lore, I'm just guessing on that point.
He joins a cast that includes Henry Cavill, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Julia Ormond, Christopher Meloni, Antje Traue, and Russell Crowe.
