The fall season is when acting is supposed to step to the forefront, and perhaps there'll be no better example of that than Roman Polanski's next film, Carnage. Due out on November 18th, it features John C. Reilly, Jodie Foster, Christoph Waltz, and Kate Winslet as two upper middle class couples meeting for dinner after their kids get into a fight in school. Based on Yasmina Reza's acclaimed stageplay, I'd look for sharp, cutting verbal wounds over brawling action. This one should be amazing.
Carnage will be premiering at the Venice International Film Festival, before making it's US premier at the New York festival. Filmspoons has a few new photos from the film, which don't say a whole lot except that maybe the tone will be a bit lighter than it sounds.
