Nick Frost to play the seventh dwarf in Snow White and the Huntsman

Ok, that seals it. I'm now Team Snow White and the Huntsman. Tarsem Singh is shooting The Brothers Grimm: Snow White film right now with Julia Roberts leading that one, but I gotta give it up to Universal and the handling of their version of the fairy tale. They made a shrewd move in letting their film release a few months later, giving them time to round up a far superior cast from top to bottom.  The final piece of the puzzle? Nick Frost.

Variety reports that the Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz star will play the seventh and final dwarf in the film. He appears to be replacing Eddie Izzard, who is no longer mentioned as part of the cast.  He'll be joining Chris Hemsworth as the titular huntsman, Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Lily Cole, Sam Spruell, Sam Clafin, and Charlize Theron as the evil queen. Toby Jones, Bob Hoskins, Ian McShane, Eddie Marsan, Ray Winstone, and Stephen Graham round out the rest of the dwarves. Rupert Sanders is directing, with a release date of June 1st 2012 set in place.

Nick Frost will be seen next in the alien invasion film, Attack the Block, which I highly recommend you seek out. He'll also be featured later this year as one of the voices in The Adventures of Tintin.
