3 clips from Take This Waltz, starring Seth Rogen and Michelle Williams

The pairing of director Sarah Polley with  Michelle Williams(Wendy and Lucy) was bound to produce a film of extraordinary emotional heft, and that certainly looks to be the case with Take This Waltz. Polley, who as an actress shared a similar penchant for heavy acting showcases, made her directorial debut in 2006 with the heartbreaking Away from Her. Her follow-up explores another relationship on the skids.

Take this Waltz features Williams and Seth Rogen as a couple dealing with getting older and facing new sexual temptations. Williams' character is infatuated with a new neighbor(played by Luke Kirby), while Sarah Silverman takes on a rare dramatic turn as her best friend. Three new clips are available now courtesy of AwardsDaily[via ThePlaylist], and they all look fantastic. The third and final one has a Blue Valentine quality to it, beautiful colors and a dreamy atmosphere.  Check them out below...

As good as this looks, there's a part of me that wishes Williams would make a film that didn't require her to be so damn serious all the time. That was one thing Polley managed to do a bit better, I think, taking on fun roles in stuff like Dawn of the Dead and Splice. Williams' Blue Valentine counterpart, Ryan Gosling, has successfully made the jump from indie idol to mainstream darling.
