Trailer Time: Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy
If the look, style, and sound of Ecstasy seem at all familiar, it's because you're probably familiar with Irvine Welsh's most popular work. The adaptation of his book, Trainspotting, was the introduction of a lot of people to the Scottish underworld drug scene, done with a darkly comedic tone.
Based on his 1996 book, Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance, the film features a number of different stories all centered on the lives of those involved with the casual use of drugs, and those who's lives are built around it, namely the criminal types and the habitual users. Kristin Kreuk and Adam Sinclair(Van Wilder 2) are a couple seeking to find out if their love is real or chemically induced. Billy Boyd, Colin Mochrie, and Dean McDermott also star, but the real star of this new trailer(released exclusively by ThePlaylist) is the soundtrack, which captures the sound of techno club scene beautifully. Count me in.
Award winning documentarian and music video director Rob Heydon is behind the camera, with Welsh himself making a cameo in the film. No release date is set yet, but you can check out the trailer below...
