Arnold Schwarzenegger to star in indie action thriller, Captive

How do you know Arnold Schwarzenegger is officially back into the Hollywood swing of things now that his great public national embarassment is over? Because he's taking roles in movies that sound like they'd suck no matter who was in them in order to fill out his calendar.  He's got a big role in The Expendables 2 coming up, not to mention he'll be partnering up with acclaimed South Korean director Kim Jee-Woon for The Last Stand. There's also that little matter of a Terminator 5 with Fast Five director Justin Lin. And fitting somewhere in-between all that comes the action thriller, Captive, which currently has no director attached.

The film will have the Governator as a real estate agent(!!!??) living in Brazil, kidnapped and held for ransom in an armored truck prison buried in a landfill. Seriously. While he looks for a way out, a cop specializing in ransom kidnappings tries to find him. This sounds terrible, but with Schwarzeneger attached it's going to have global cache.

The story comes from Danish commercials director Nicolai Fuglsig, who was also going to direct but now will only exec-produce. The script is by Benjamin van der Veen(Che) and Kario Salem(The Rat Pack), so I'm expecting the writing to at least be solid. [Deadline]
