Stanley Tucci and Chris Cooper join Robert Redford's political thriller, The Company You Keep

After taking a seven year break between between The Legend of Bagger Vance(*shudder) and 2007's Lions for Lambs(*double shudder*), Robert Redford seems to have settled into a nice directing groove. Earlier this year he brought us the post-Lincoln assassination legal thriller, The Conspirator, which while painfully slow featured a buzzworthy performance by Robin Wright. And Redford is already hard at work piecing together his next project, the politically charged The Company You Keep.

Already starring Redford, Shia Labeouf, Brit Marling(Another Earth), Nick Nolte, Susan Sarandon, Richard Jenkins, Stephen Root(Office Space), and Julie Christie, Screen Daily is now reporting two of the the world's finest character actors have jumped aboard. Stanley Tucci and Chris Cooper have joined the cast of the film, which should be kicking off filming in Vancouver in the near future.

The story centers around an ex-militant(Redford) wanted by the FBI, forced to flee when an eager journalist(Labeouf) exposes his identity. Tucci, last seen in Captain America: The First Avenger, will play Labeouf's editor. Cooper, who will be the puppet hating villain in The Muppets in just a few weeks, will play Redford's brother.
