The monster breaks free in new clip from The Thing

Did you forget there was a prequel to John Carpenter's The Thing coming out in just a few weeks? Like on October 14th? I bet you did. And apparently so did Universal because there's been very little in the way of hype for it. Hell, John and I just made an appearance on our pal Tim Gordon's Keeping It Reel broadcast for the Fall Preview Show, and I don't think it even got brought up. What the heck's going on?

Whatever, maybe Universal is getting back on the marketing horse again because there's a new clip out, which while brief gives us a quick glimpse at the monster as it breaks free from it's icy confines. Directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr., the remake stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Eric Christian Olsen. Check out the new clip below, courtesy of MTV...
