The Sunday Drive: 9/11/11

3. A Good Old Fashioned Orgy
Criminally underseen adult comedy starring Jason Sudeikis and an amazing ensemble cast(Martin Starr, Lake Bell, Tyler Labine) as a group of friends who decide to take the ultimate plunge, indulging in one final, sex-filled blow out before their weekend hangout is sold.

2. Warrior
Rocky for the MMA generation? Gavin O'Connor(Miracle) brings his gift for crowd pleasing underdog stories to the violent world of mixed martial arts. Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton play a pair of brawling bros on a collision course when both enter the same big money tournament. Nick Nolte gives what I think is an Oscar worthy performance as their father, struggling to atone for past sins and hopefully become a part of his sons' lives again.
1. Contagion
Only Steven Soderbergh could make a cold, viral outbreak film this sleek and stylish. A jam packed cast featuring Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law and more star in a movie so terrifying you'll never touch a doorknob or shake another person's hand again.

DVD Pick of the Week: X-men: First Class
I've taken some serious heat for my claims that X-men: First Class is the best superhero movie ever. No knock against Christopher Nolan and his Batman films, they are both excellent. But Matthew Vaughn's film had a much harder job. Not only did it have to make the X-men franchise relevant again, but it also manages to incorporate the turbulent 1960s without turning into a goofy time travel story. Instead it uses the time period to add depth and texture to the mutant universe, creating the first truly globe trotting superhero adventure we've seen yet. And did I mention there are a lot of characters that need to be juggled? X-men: First Class is nearly flawless, and a hell of a lot of fun to boot.
