Brand new poster for alien invasion flick, The Darkest Hour

The Darkest Hour being produced by hotshot foreign director Timur Bekmambetov(Wanted, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and taking place in the heart of Russia, it's no surprise the bulk of the marketing we've seen has come from foreign outlets. International trailers, Russian posters, and now this German one-sheet for what looks to be one of the more creative alien invasion flicks of the coming months.

Starring Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Max Minghella, Rachael Taylor, and Joel Kinnaman, the film follows five people trapped in Moscow while the world suffers a devastating attack by an invading alien force, which at first appears to be totally invisible to the naked eye.  I won't go into further detail on their true nature, but they are here for a very specific reason. The effects are dazzling, as expected by anything Bekmambetov puts his name on(he produced the gorgeously animated 9 a couple years back).

Chris Gorak(Right At Your Door) directed, with a script by Jon Spaihts(Prometheus). It's due out in theaters on Christmas Day.
