The writing certainly appeared to be on the wall. A couple of months ago, Michael K. Williams, better known as the awesome thug Omar in The Wire, said that he had a role in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained all lined up. And then there like a dozen new additions to the cast, but no mention of Williams anywhere. Now we see why, as his schedule for the third season of Boardwalk Empire will prevent him joining the spaghetti western. Boooo! Hiiisssss!!!
Oh well. Sad news, but with it comes a glimmer of light. Williams has instead joined the cast of Snitch, where he'll play a (shocker!!!) drug dealer. Starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as a father who attempts to earn a reduced jail sentence for his son by going undercover for the DEA to bust a major drug boss, the film stars shooting in Louisiana next month. Susan Sarandon, Barry Pepper, and Jon Bernthal co-star. [Deadline]
