New trailer for Pixar's Brave

While the gloriously detailed animation for Pixar's first original fairy tale, Brave, has been well in display for months, they continue had been mum on showing us much of the story. We know it'll be focused on Princess Merida(Kelly MacDonald), who lives in a kingdom in the Scottish highlands. A rebellious sort, she wants to prove herself outside of just being part of the royal family, but in doing so she breaks a sacred custom and brings turmoil to the land. In an attempt to fix things, she goes to an old Wise Woman who grants her one wish, which may be too heavy a burden for her to bear.

The latest trailer finally gets us out of the kingdom and shows Merida on the perilous quest we know she'll undertake. We even get a couple of solid looks at the creature that once inspired the film to be titled The Bear and the Bow. My only complaint is that I wish we could've seen more of her journey, and less about her stifling life as a princess. Boring. Not a big deal, and I can definitely look past it because this is by far Pixar's most gorgeous film yet. After what has been kind of a soft 2011 for Pixar, Brave looks like the film that will get people to stop whining about Cars 2. At least I hope so.

Brave will open next year on June 22nd, but you can check out the latest trailer below...
