With all the hoopla surrounding The Dark Knight Rises and it's lackluster viral marketing campaign, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has been lost in the shuffle a little bit. The buzz for Christopher Nolan's Bat-flick will probably never subside, so Sony might as well strike now and remind everybody why we were all so excited for The Amazing Spider-Man just a few months ago.
It's not a trailer or anything, but this new poster(via Superhero Hype) is still pretty cool. Featuring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, perched on the side of a wall casting an ominously long shadow. The thing that caught my attention was the tagline "The Untold Story" I haven't heard anything that makes me believe there'll be something special about this particular Spider-Man story, but maybe I'm wrong?
The Amazing Spider-Man is directed by 500 Days of Summer's Marc Webb, and alongside Garfield the film stars Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Sally Field, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Irrfan Khan, Campbell Scott, and Embeth Davidtz. The Amazing Spider-Man crawls into theaters on July 3rd 2012!
