See what happens when you piss ol' Honest Abe off? You don't agree with the Emancipation Proclamation? He'll chop some since into you with the quickness. Actually, Lincoln's battle ax is reserved for vampires and other creatures of the night, at least in the history dreamed up by Seth Grahame-Smith's novel, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
Adapted for the big screen by Grahame-Smith and directed by Timur Bekmambetov, the horror/history mash-up has the 16th President of the United States as a man who lost his family at a young age from a vampire attack. Ever since, he's dedicated his life not only to leading the country, but also by protecting it against bloodsuckers. Benjamin Walker plays Lincoln, who in this latest image from Entertainment Weekly appears to be readying for action. Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Alan Tudyk, and Rufus Sewell co-star.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is due to open on June 22nd.
