Trailer Time: 'Silent House', starring Elizabeth Olsen

While Martha Marcy May Marlene may not have been everybody's speed, I found the fractured psycho-thriller to be riveting stuff. The reason mainly was Elizabeth Olsen's amazing, paranoia-fueled performance, earning her awards nominations left and right this season. She definitely deserved all the attention, but I'm curious to see if she can make a worthwhile follow up or if it was just a fluke.

Her next film, Silent House, follows similar territory. A remake of Gustavo Hernández brilliant single-take horror, La Casa Muda, the film has Olsen playing a woman who devolves into insanity while trapped in her family's lake house.  The film is directed by Chris Kentis and Laura Lau, and if their names sound familiar then you probably remember Open Water. That was the thriller they made a few years ago about the couple left stranded in the middle of the ocean. If you haven't seen it, it's worth seeking out. Just avoid the dreadful sequel.

The first trailer for Silent House has been released ahead of it's opening on March 9th. Check it out below....
