Trailer Time: 'The Lady', starring Michelle Yeoh

To look at Michelle Yeoh in Luc Besson's political drama, The Lady, is to recognize that she has perfected the manner and aura of Aung San Suu Kyi. It's virtually impossible to tell the two apart when compared side-by-side, and I hope that Yeoh will finally get the recognition she's long deserved for a remarkably steady career.

People keep saying how much of a drastic shift this film is for Besson, but the truth is that his directorial career has been quite diverse. It's on the writing and producing end where he tends to gravitate towards action, such as Taken or The Transporter. The Lady is his first outright biopic of a political figure, focusing on Burmese political activist and Nobel Prize winner Suu Kyi, and her struggles to defend the country she loves while standing by her ailing husband's side.

The latest trailer for The Lady has been released, and it shows Besson is capable of sweeping Oscar fare as well as popcorn flicks. The lady will finally see it's national rollout on April 13th...
