From it's armored knights, to it's cloudy darkened skies and fantastical creatures, Snow White and the Huntsman appears to be the Snow White film to beat this year and a damn sight better than Mirror Mirror. Directed by Rupert Sanders, the film seems to have embraced the most chilling aspects of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, with the evil queen(Charlize Theron) desiring to consume the heart of Snow White(Kristen Stewart) to attain her beauty and also immortality. Chris Hemsworth plays the titular Huntsman, who refuses to do the queen's bidding, instead training Snow White to fight like a warrior and defend herself.
The latest trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman is shorter, basically a stripped down version of the one we saw a few weeks ago, but there are still a few new scenes to be found. With it's Lord of the Rings style action, and Stewart drawing in the Twilight crowd so they can watch her make out with Thor, I have a feeling this might be the biggest hit of the summer, and I'm including The Avengers in that calculation. There's a ceiling on the appeal for a superhero movie like that, which isn't present for a film like Snow White and the Huntsman.
We'll find out when the film drops on June 1st, but for now check out the new trailer....
