Sure Shots: Katherine Heigl; 'Bridget Jones's Baby'; Juno Temple

* Oh Katherine Heigl. Things just aren't going that well for her post-Grey's Anatomy(which may be why she wants back on it so badly), and it seems as if Knocked Up may have been her creative high point. Sad but true. After her last flick, One for the Money, opened up at 3rd place last week, she's now at the stage where she's making knock-offs of bad Milla Jojovich flicks. Heigl will star in Face Blind, about a psychologist who has the rare(and legit) disorder of not being able to identify people by their faces. She of course then comes under attack by a killer who has also been terrorizing one of her patients. If it sounds a little familiar, Jojovich made a similar film just last year called Faces in the Crowd. No word on who will direct Face Blind, but Heigl is on board as a producer. Poor gal. * Working Title is doing their best to squash rumors of the demise of Bridget Jones's Baby, the third film in the Renee Zellwegger rom-coms that I'm pretty sure nobody was clamoring for anyway. The story had been that Hugh Grant was pretty unhappy with the script by David Nicholls and series creator Helen Fielding, to the point where he was leaving the film altogether. The studio tells Variety these rumors are untrue, and that the start of production is simply being delayed as the script continues to be worked on. There's just one more problem, and that's the tightening schedule of Colin Firth, and if the film is delayed too long he may have to drop out. I have a feeling this one's going nowhere. If it ever gets off the ground, it'll be directed by Peter Cattaneo(The Full Monty).

* Juno Temple(Kaboom, The Dark Knight Rises) is replacing Dakota Fanning in Girl's Night Out, a teen romance film which Fanning had been attached to since last year. Fanning will play Princess Margaret, who along with her sister Elizabeth(played by The Iron Lady's Alexandra Roach), are allowed one night of wild adventure to celebrate V.E. Day. Michael Hoffman(Soapdish) is set to direct. Temple is a personal favorite of mine, and her somewhat far out choices in roles are one of her defining traits. If you haven't seen her in Dirty Girl, do yourself a favor and put it on your Netflix queue. While she began her career as something of an indie darling, it's good to see her stepping further into the mainstream, and obviously playing someone like Princess Margaret is going to draw a lot of attention. Expect to see this one some time next year. [DailyMail]
