Alec Baldwin joins Woody Allen's next film; joins Russell Brand for 'Man that Rocks the Cradle'

Looks like Woody Allen and Alec Baldwin got along famously while shooting To Rome With Love. Or he just likes all the hot women Allen tends to populate his movies with, because the newly renewed 30 Rock star has signed on to be a part of Allen's next film, which still doesn't have a title. Hopefully we won't have to suffer through weeks of name changes like we did for To Rome With Love. That was irritating.

We don't know much about what the film will entail, except that Sally Hawkins(Happy Go Lucky) is the only confirmed star at this stage. Cate Blanchett and Bradley Cooper are circling roles in what will likely be another romantic comedy. Filming is set to begin this summer in San Francisco and New York.

Also, Baldwin will be re-teaming with his Rock of Ages co-star, Russell Brand, for Man that Rocks the Cradle. If only it were The Hand that Rocks the Cradle sequel I've been waiting twenty years for, it instead is a comedy about an overworked husband and father who hires a supernanny that he's heard is a real "kid whisperer". Only when the nanny arrives it turns out to be a dude. Whomp whomp. *drum snare* This sounds horrible, and likely won't be improved by whoever is found to direct it.  [Deadline]
