Amy Adams is headed for some 'Dark Places'

Amy Adams has been nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar twice, once for 2005's Junebug, and again in 2010 for The Fighter. She continues to be one the most versatile actresses in Hollywood, making her also one of the most sought after. Not only is she currently working with Clint Eastwood for his baseball drama, Trouble with the Curve, but she's got a project with Spike Jonze on the way. And let's not forget about The Master, from director Paul Thomas Anderson.

The latest addition to her busy schedule is Dark Places, based on Gillian Flynn's novel about a woman who witness her family's murder, then testifies against her brother when he's tried for the killings. 25 years later, she finds herself brought before the secret, macabre organization known as The Kill Club, who want to learn the truth about what really happened.

Ok, this sounds like new ground for Adams, and far from the chippy roles she tends to gravitate to. Not necessarily Oscar worthy stuff, but you never know. Gilles Paquet-Brenner(Sarah's Key) is on board to direct. [Deadline]
