The Batmobile Goes Cross Country!

If there's one visual aspect of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy that clearly set's it apart from any previous take on the Caped Crusader it's the vehicles. I actually didn't realize how important the Tumbler and Bat-Pod were in establishing the real world feel of the films until I started writing this, think about it, nothing else is radically different from what was previously done. That one small change making Bruce drive a prototype military vehicle instead of a weaponized Lamborghini grounds everything else making it easier to believe the more outlandish gadgets tucked away by Lucious Fox. This isn't even to mention that changing one of the most iconic facets of Batman lore could've sparked nerdrage (Bat Nipples anyone?), but if you do something right people will jump on board.

In preparation for the release of this summer's sure to be blockbuster conclusion to the series Warner Bros. has sent the Tumbler and the equally cool Bat Pod on a cross country tour. If you are here in the DC metro area then mark down May 27th, 28th for Baltimore, and be sure to get there early as I can't imagine there's going to be anything as cool going on elsewhere. Click here for the official site which has a complete listing of tour stops with more to be added soon. We will make sure to update with more information as it becomes available.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th
