More boobs, more violence in the red band trailer for 'Lawless'

"Some say that violence has followed my brothers all their lives."  Yeah, you can say that again. Lawless is based on Matt Bondurant's stunningly poetic, brutally violent Prohibition-era novel, The Wettest County in the World, and follows the three Bondurant brothers as they battle corrupt cops and a changing America to keep their illegal moonshine operation running. John Hillcoat(The Road) is directing, with an impressive cast featuring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke, Guy Pearce, Mia Wasikowska, Gary Oldman, and Jessica Chastain.

In case you couldn't figure out that Lawless gets pretty bloody and very R-rated, a new red band trailer has been released that aims to drive the point home. Unlike Bondurant's novel, which is based on the true story of his grandfather and two great-uncles, the film is a straight up gangster piece, full of the same sorts of cutthroat, hard-hearted men we've grown accustomed to seeing in other big city genre flicks. While the bloodshed is more pronounced in the trailer, it also gives a glimpse at some of the lighter moments, of which there are a few, and a gratuitous boob shot thrown in for good measure. You might not want to watch this at work.

Lawless hits theaters on August 29th. Check out the new trailer below...
