Thor may battle the Borg Queen in 'Thor: The Dark World'

The curtain is being lifted on Thor: The Dark World slowly but surely, and with production set to kick off next month, the surrounding pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. We recently learned that Thor(Chris Hemsworth) will be facing off against the Dark Elves in the highly anticipated sequel, with Chris Eccleston playing their leader, Malekith the Accursed. Now we're learning of one more familiar face being added to the cast.

Alice Krige, who many will remember for playing the Borg Queen in Star Trek: First Contact and on Star Trek Voyager has revealed she has a small role in the highly awaited sequel. Krige dropped the news while attending a Star Trek: Las Vegas convention, also saying we may not be able to recognize her face, which indicates she's likely going to be another Dark Elf, most likely Alflyse, the Queen of the Eastern Spires.

In the comics, Alflyse was part of a crossover storyline involving Thor and Hercules, where Malekith manipulates the Greek demigod to try and kill Alflyse. It doesn't go as planned, and Hercules winds up sleeping with her, which is usually how things go in a Hercules story. Too bad they can't bring him into the movie, because I've always loved the interactions between the Greek and Norse gods.

Thor: The Dark World will land in theaters on November 8th 2013.
