Yancy Butler to return for 'Kick-Ass 2'; new poster revealed

If there was one actress I thought was primed to be the next Linda Hamilton, it was Yancy Butler. She was tough enough to star alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme in Hard Target, but she was at her tough and sexy best opposite Wesley Snipes in Drop Zone. Nerds will remember her(and her perfectly fitted jeans) fondly for the short-lived TV adaptation of Witchblade. Her career got derailed a little bit thanks to some off-camera issues, so it was a pleasant surprise to see her turn up in Kick-Ass as Angie D'Amico, the mother to the evil Red Mist(Christopher Mintz-Plasse). With the Jeff Wadlow-directed sequel a few weeks away from kicking off, Butler will get a chance to come back, as well.

After months of Mark Millar stringing us along, Kick-Ass 2 is set to begin production this September. The film will have Kick-Ass(Aaron Johnson) and Hit-Girl teaming up with a band of like-minded heroes known as Justice Forever to help take the Red Mist down. She'll join new additions John Leguizamo and Donald Faison, with most of the original cast set to return, including a possible cameo by Nicolas Cage.

Also, a new promo poster has been released for the film, which is basically just the title with a number "2" spray painted on it. Not much to see here, really. Here's hoping they go back to the rumored title of Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.  [THR]
