New trailer for animated 'Mass Effect: Paragon Lost'

It's a little surprising that Hollywood has suddenly fallen head over heels in love with video game adaptations, yet we haven't heard anything about a feature film based on the mega-popular Mass Effect role playing games. Legendary Pictures picked up the rights a couple of years ago with plans for Mark Protosevich(I Am Legend) to pen the script, but we've heard nothing about it ever since. So for fans of Bioware's Mass Effect franchise, which already encompasses a number of novels and comics, they'll have to settle for the promising animated prequel, Mass Effect: Paragon Lost.

We brought you a preview of the film back in March, and now we're being treated to a new trailer featuring the English voice cast led by Freddie Prinze Jr. The film serves as a prequel to the Mass Effect 3 video game, and follows the early career of tough as nails Alliance Marine, James Vega. Prinze voiced him in the game, as well, so there's a nice touch of continuity there. The story has Vega leading a Special Forces squad against the alien Collectors, who those that follow Mass Effect know are a recurring universal threat.

Mass Effect: Paragon Lost's release date recently got bumped six weeks, so now you can expect to see it hit Blu-Ray on December 28th. You can pre-order your copy of it here....
