Three clips from 'Flight' starring Denzel Washington

Could Flight be Denzel Washington's ticket to another Best Actor nomination? His first since 2001's Training Day? And what about Robert Zemeckis in his first live-action directorial effort since Cast Away? Could we be talking about him as a potential Best Director? It would certainly be a great way of putting all those years of motion-capture films behind him. Judging by the response Flight received out of the New York Film Festival, it could be a return to form for both men.

We've got three new clips from the film, and all seem to be crucial to the story of Whip Whitaker, a  pilot who is hailed as a hero after miraculously landing his plane after an in-air emergency, saving everyone aboard. But a follow-up investigation discovers that he may have been drunk while flying, giving him a look at how quickly the media can go from friend to foe.

The first clip shows shows Whitaker's cool handling of the emergency, while his co-pilot and stewardess panic nearby. The second clip takes place afterwards, with Whitaker in the hospital room and his buddy(John Goodman) pissed at the quality of pharmaceuticals the doctors are serving up. The last bit of footage is Whitaker learning of the potential consequences of his actions, and exactly why he may need to start looking for a good lawyer.

Flight co-stars James Badge Dale, Melissa Leo, Don Cheadle, Kelly Reilly, Brian Geraghy, and Bruce Greenwood. Look for it to open on November 2nd.....[Collider/Yahoo/Moviefone]
