Is this footage of a giant robot in Guillermo Del Toro's 'Pacific Rim'?

While those who attended Comic-Con and managed to get in to Hall H already saw some early footage from Guillermo Del Toro's mega monster flick, Pacific Rim, it's yet to be released out to the public just yet. I expect we'll probably get something in the coming weeks during the year's final flurry of major releases, but for now those anxious for a taste will have to settle for this.

During a promo vid for Del Toro's visual effects company, Mirada, you get some brief footage of a giant robot firing off a bunch of missiles and looking like he's about to wreck some serious shop. Considering everything else in the clip is easily identifiable as past Del Toro works, it's safe to assume this is from Pacific Rim, and the robot is actually one of the Jaegers the humans use to do battle in. Not to mention it bears some resemblance to the Comic-Con stuff. Clearly, the effects aren't totally finished, but it's solid enough. It begins at around the 1:15 mark, so feel free to skip ahead.

Hopefully we'll get a teaser trailer or something soon. Starring Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, and Clifton Collins Jr., Pacific Rim opens on July 12th 2013...[Pacificrimmovie]
