Josh Gad and Ryan Dixon to write the 'Twins' sequel, 'Triplets'

Hey, good for Josh Gad, who has successfully used his Book of Mormon notoriety to not only elevate his acting career, but also his work as a screenwriter. He'll play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in a Steve Jobs biopic, has a television series in the works, and will co-star with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in The Internship. His next gig will see him picking up the pen to draft the treatment for a sequel I'm sure most hoped was just a big joke.

Back in March we learned of a potential sequel to Twins, the 1988 comedy(although I don't remember laughing) starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito as brothers who were separated at birth but find one another later with "hilarious" results. Titled Triplets, the follow-up would again be produced and directed by Ivan Reitman, with Eddie Murphy joining as a previously unknown third brother. If you find that idea funny then God bless you. This movie's for you. With the project now moving forward, Gad and Ryan Dixon have been hired to work up a story treatment, which Dixon will then script.

So again, good for Josh Gad. He's come a long way in a short amount of time, but hopefully his future endeavors are more promising than this. [Deadline]
