I don't usually post video blogs here, not even for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, but since it's been a slow holiday week and this one's pretty interesting, this seemed like a pretty good time to do a 180. We're only a few short days away from the world premier of the film, and as Peter Jackson says at the very beginning, he's still editing with hopes of wrapping up just a couple of days before audiences get their first look at the finished product. Holy crap that's a tight schedule. Maybe a little less time spent on all that unnecessary marketing would have helped? I mean, filming safety vids for Air New Zealand is cool, and the "Hobbit' inspired jet is pretty slick, but how about getting the movie done first?
The rest of the blog focuses on the post-production process, which includes a little bit on Howard Shore's development of the epic soundtrack. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opens on December 14th. Excited yet?
