10. Chronicle- Andrew Vs Matt
Chronicle scored a lot of bonus points before the final no holds barred showdown by showing us Jedi-like powers through a found footage format in a way that really worked. Then the shit hit the fan. Andrew, the film's eventual emo-villan, finally lost the last thing holding him to sanity and what follows is some of the coolest looking "found footage" to ever hit the big screen. I can only imagine how far up this list the final scene would have made it had they opted to go for the R rating.9. Dredd- Dredd Vs Hop Heads
Dredd was sadly one of those films that was D.O.A. at the box office, mostly because of the original Judge Dredd starring Sylvester Stallone (which wasn't that bad...certainly not bad enough to taint any future take on the helmeted one). Our first real look at Dredd's hole making ability comes when he first arrives at the Peachtree housing projects to bust some dealers slangin' "Slo-Mo", a drug that slow's everything down to 1/100th of the actual speed. Awesome party drug? Negative. Awesome reason to show what getting beat-up in super slow motion looks like? Yes indeed! Karl Urban's Judge Dredd delivers no catch phrases (I am the Law! doesn't count) and no bullshit, simple judgement and execution of sentence, if you'll pardon the pun. Not to mention his sidekick this time around is MUCH cuter than Rob Schneider!8. Red Dawn- Peta Vs. North Korea
Slow down, I know his name in the movie is Robert Kitner but Peta is shorter and I'm lazy. Deal. Anyway, I know the remake of Red Dawn lacked the magic of the original but it was still a MUCH better movie than people made it out to be, fun to say the least. There were "Hell Yeah!" moments a plenty but the hands down most pants tingling patriotic moment came thanks to Josh Hutcherson (NOTE: The pants tingling was from America fighting back....not Josh Hutcherson...yeah there's no way I'm coming out of this sounding cool). As the high school rebels are getting into the swing of their invader slaughtering guerilla tactics a battle breaks out between them and a dozen North Korean soldiers. Instead of getting pinned down and freezing Hutcherson's character stands up and unloads his M249 (SAW) on the commies below. After wiping out the platoon he looks down at the townspeople/prisoners and yells the iconic "WOLVERINESSSSSSSS!!". After seeing that I wanted nothing more than to walk down main street while Hulk Hogan's theme song blared in the background.
While Act of Valor caught alot of flack for it's acting, they sure as HELL delivered on what they promised. All manner of highly trained ass-kicks delivered by the good ole' USofA. In a world where most men between the ages of 12 and 50 have spent good money and better time pwning noobs in Call of Duty this movie should have been a solid gold hit. The scene I waited for since first seeing the trailer did NOT disappoint. The SEALS are descending upon a terrorist stronghold where a captive CIA agent is being held. The assault begins with the single most awesome sniper scene on film and only gets better from there. 
I was pretty sure The Cabin in the Woods was one of the coolest, most unique horror films I had ever scene about 25 minutes in. Then someone hit the unlock button on the giant monster prison. What follows is the definition of chaos. Blood, tears, and brain matter is almost instantly everywhere as every monster you and the SyFy channel could ever imagine tears a gory path through anyrhing in it's way. I could talk all day and not do this scene justice, with that in mind I'll shut up and roll the tape. 
I think I speak for most people when I say that when Bond got to Shanghai I KNEW this wasn't just any old Bond film. It starts with Bond vaulting onto a rising elevator, which should be physically impossible to do with balls so big, but that's the least impressive moment. What follows is a violent, but simple, fist fight. What makes this scene so awesome is that the high tech backdrop of Shanghai makes it look like they're fighting inside of Skynet. Even more awesome is that the fight is almost entirely shown through silhouette which, apparently, can look freaking spectacular if done right. 
As I watched The Dark Knight Rises the first time there was no question that this movie was just as epic as those that preceded it, still, I couldn't help but notice the abscence of any landmark action scenes like the 18-wheeler chase in The Dark Knight. Then it happened. The GCPD rose up against their captors and marched down the road directly at the tanks waiting to rip them apart. It all looks to be over when Batman shows up in his...plane, I guess, and takes out the tanks allowing the officers to fight the bad guys man to man. The whole thing plays out like Braveheart with better clothes and paved roads, right down to the good guy and bad guy fighting their way through the horde to get to each other. Bane's ferocity and Batman's calculated movement give us the final fight that this series deserved. Pay close attention to the video below when Batman manages to break Bane's mask, the violence of the blows is turned up to 11 proving at the same time Bane's ability and Batman's resolve. 
If ever The Expendables disappointed viewers, The Expendables 2 made sure to pick up the slack. The scene that takes the cake gives us the top tier of 80's action fighting together against their constant enemies. The nameless henchman! It doesn't hurt that those are henchman for Vann Damme, who pretty much proves that he should have turned bad guy right after Timecop, he wears the role like a finely tailored suit. This is the scene that these movies were made for.
