Sure Shots: Kristen Wiig; Franco Nero; Dan Stevens
* Kristen Wiig's Bridesmaids success won her the right to pretty much do whatever she wanted, and she chose to exec-produce and star in Imogene, a passion project she had been developing for awhile. The dark comedy follows a playwright who uses her gift for the dramatic to stage a fake suicide in order to win back her ex-boyfriend, only to wind up in the custody of her gambling-addict mother, played by Annette Bening. Newly retitled Girl Most Likely, the film has now been given a July 19th 2013 release date. The summer seems like an odd time for what looks very much like a spring pic, but oh well.
* Hopefully you knew that Jamie Foxx is far from the first Django. There have been more than 30 Django movies(some say over 100) released already, but when people think of the character it's Italian superstar and spaghetti Western icon Franco Nero in the role. He's now set to revisit the character in Django Lives!, a sequel to the 1966 Sergio Corbucci-directed film, which has the gunslinging drifter now in his twilight years in 1915, fleeing to a rural town to escape debt collectors. Noah Segan(Looper), may also have a role in the film as someone who befriends Django. Developed by producers Eric Zaldivar and Mike Malloy, this would only be the second officially sanctioned Django sequel, the first being 1987's Django 2. In the meantime, look out for Nero's awesome cameo in Django Unchained.
* Assuming Dan Stevens really is leaving the comfy Brit confines of Downtown Abbey, the actor is busy firming up his Hollywood career. It got off to a rough start with Amy Heckerling's woefully unfunny Vamps, but his next project is considerably more promising. He'll join Benedict Cumberbatch, Daniel Bruhl, and Alicia Vikander in the Wikileaks film developed by Bill Condon. Stevens will play a hacker who works for the controversial document-dumping site.
