If you've been watching WWE Raw or Smackdown these last couple of months you've probably seen a noticeable shift in the personality of Mike "The Miz" Mizanin. Yeah, the former Real World star and ex-WWE Champion has gone from mouthy bad guy to fast-talking pretty boy recently, and there's an obvious reason for it. The WWE is attempting to turn him into a movie star, and his first shot out of the gate is their top franchise, The Marine 3: Homefront.
The first trailer for the action-heavy flick debuted during WWE's Tribute to the Troops, and now its hit the web. Looking exactly like the last two films in the series, which starred John Cena and Ted Dibiase Jr., The Miz takes over as the latest soldier to take on a bunch of terrorists who have kidnapped someone close to him. Ashley Bell(The Last Exorcism) plays his niece, with Neal McDonough(Captain America: The First Avenger) as the villain.
Looks pretty generic, and it's difficult to gauge how effective The Miz is as an action hero. The role was initially supposed to go to Randy Orton but he was shifted over to 12 Rounds: Reloaded when actual soldiers balked at seeing one of their own portrayed by someone with a checkered military past. The Marine 3: Homefront arrives on March 12th 2013.
