Sure Shots: Joel Kinnaman; Sofia Vergara; Mark Duplass

*Last fall we learned that Liam Neeson would be branching out *snort* by playing an aging hitman in Jaume Collet-Serra's upcoming film, The All Nighter. THR reports that further casting is underway ahead of a fall start date, and the next addition to the film is Robocop star, Joel Kinnaman. He'll play Neeson's son, a chauffeur who witnesses a murder and must be eliminated. It'll be up to Neeson to take out his former boss in one night in order to protect his family. Brad Inglesby (Out of the Furnance) drafted the spec script.

* While many are still drooling over her recent Machete Kills one-sheet, and I can hardly blame anyone for that, Sofia Vergara is busy moving on to other big screen projects. The Modern Family star is now joining Jason Statham in Heat, a remake of the 1986 Burt Reynolds film about a compulsive gambler in Las Vegas who takes it upon himself to get revenge on the mob when a friend is brutally beaten. Vergara's film choices have been sketchy at best (remember Chasing Papi??), but I like the moves she's been making lately. Heat will be directed by Simon West, who worked with Statham on The Mechanic and The Expendables 2. [Variety]

* Mark Duplass, Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), and Ted Danson have joined the indie comedy The One I Love, from first-time director Charlie McDowell. McDowell is a comedian best known for his Twitter page where he makes fun of the stupid things his female neighbors say in the apartment above him. It's so popular that it recently landed him a book deal, and now he's got a movie in the works. Let's hope he's worth all this fuss. The film, Justin Lader, has Duplass and Moss as a couple with relationship problems, with Danson as their therapist. [Deadline]
